New underwater optical communication equipment completes underwater testingRecently, the LC50CCA-50/40WD dual light source underwater wireless optical communication equipment developed by Wuhan Liubo Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. has completed underwater communication tests. This device is a commercial underwater optical communication product developed in accordance with the national ocean development strategy. It is suitable for high-speed underwater communication needs and can be applied to high-speed information transmission between motion platforms such as underwater sensor data acquisition and underwater robots. The LC50CCA-50/40WD underwater optical communication equipment uses blue green light sources to form bidirectional link interaction, and uses LD narrow beam and LED wide beam light sources as carriers, greatly reducing communication alignment requirements. After the equipment was completed and developed in December 2020, underwater communication experiments were conducted in December 2020 and January 2021, respectively. The experimental results achieved communication rates of tens of Mbps and communication distances of tens of meters, allowing for the transmission of various information such as videos, images, and text underwater. Traditional underwater communication uses acoustic communication methods, but due to the low frequency of acoustic waves, its communication rate is only on the order of kbps, which cannot meet the requirements of high-speed underwater communication. In recent years, research on underwater optical communication has been very hot both domestically and internationally. It can solve the bottleneck problem of underwater high-speed communication, and blue green laser underwater communication technology has good market application prospects.
